My motor is leaking oil all over the place...
So I'm driving yesterday, and I notice I have no Vtec. I figured, since Vtec operates off of oil pressure, that my oil might be low. I swing into the Jiffy Lube my friend works at, and I decide to give it an oil change.
BTW, having a friend who works at Jiffy Lube is great. It makes changing my oil so much easier.
Anyways, I change the oil and filter, and everything looks ok. Then I start the car, and oil starts pissing out of the engine. Not good. When I shut off the car, it stops pissing oil.
It looks like it's coming from behind the bottom end of the timing belt cover. Here's my question: Is there a seal back there? Like a timing belt drive shaft seal that could have blown?
Any (logical) ideas would be greatly appreciated.

i had this problem awhile back. Kept thinking it was a power steering line broke. It ended up being this service bolt on the back of the block that was shooting oil everywhere. It was close to the timing cover.
u got the jdm motor right?

no, it's a USDM '93 Vtec. Not the most common of Vtec preludes...

jack the car up...clean everything off...get some goggles and have a friend crank the car for you. Meanwhile, look for where it is leaking

update:
front balance shaft oil seal looks to be the culprit. It wouldn't be so bad if all I had to do was install the kit. Unfortunately, the seal backed itself out, so now my timing belt and balance belt are oil-soaked. Need to replace those now, too. Gonna take me the better part of the weekend to replace, I think.
I guess this could serve as a heads-up to anyone else w/ an H22...get the kit and replace it ASAP. The local Honda dealer/rapist still has the kits in stock.

I already replaced the timing belt, tensioner, and water pump when I bought the car last August. I believe very strongly in the value of PMs. That's the bitch of it, though. I just replaced the T-belt and now I have to do it again

a cam seal could also cause this problem, too. It did on my car and the oil pump gasket o-ring thingy was leaking too. I talked to a honda tech here and they said honda put a channel in the timing belt cover to channel oil leaks and such that come from the cam seals.

it's not the cam seal, it's the front balance shaft oil seal...I checked.
