Fast Brakes Front Brake kit- any experience?
http://fastbrakes.com/shop/pro...d=102
Anybody have any experience with these? on the site, it says that one can use the stock caliper with "minor" modification- anybody know what they mean by minor? Also, in your guys' (and gals') opinion, would these work as well as 90 civic ex brakes? Im just trying to get bigger brakes to hopefully solve my brake fade problems.

Brian at Fastbrakes is a great guy very knowledgeable about Honda's and brakes. Have you tried upgrading your pads? I would shoot Brian an e-mail and he will be able to guide you in the right direction. He is a good guy.
So are there any modifications you have to do? Or is it just a direct bolt on?
Or is it just if you use your stock cals. that you have to modify it. I think what they are saying is if you use the other cals from 1990-2000 Integra, 88-90 Legend, 88-91 Prelude Si, or 88-90 Accord LXi calipers and using 11 inch rotors you will not have to?

If you use the 11 front, go with bette calipers than stock
On the 11" *(ya there bling, but it was free in the kit) rears you may have to cut the tip off the bleeder if you have a 15" wheel!
I suggest bigger MC/BB, and prop valve for better distribution.

I have the 11" front and rear and the are great. I would also spend the extra cash on the integra calipers. I thought about useing my stock ones but you have to grind a good bit of material off to get them to work. Just my $0.02

I believe the integra 90+ rotors are 11" or 10.5", Brembo is a good brand also I have ran Brembo slotted integra rotors on all 4 on both of my rex's as cheap as $125 shipped for all 4 hard to beat...
It was a pain in the *** to get these to fit and clear, but yes they stop the car very well. Bought mine cheap from a guy who couldn't figure out how to get them to fit. Instructions for installation are poor and brackets are not marked as to which direction they go, and yes it DOES matter.
Personally I think these are WAY overpriced. I only did these b/c I got them Cheap. Overwise my plan was to use re-drilled ITR or Prelude rotors with the Acura Legend GS 2 piston calipers(bigger piston diameters than NSX just no bling bling). This is an awesome setup and cheap. You just have to do some research and call some junk yards for the Civic EX knuckles and proper caliper brackets.

what do you mean that I should call up junkyards to find civic ex knuckles and caliper brackets? My understanding was that both of these came in the kit from fast brakes- is this not so? Also, everybody is talking about grinding down the caliper for proper fitment- does this fitment problem only exist when using the stock 88-91 crx caliper? Could you use a different caliper and use it without fitment problems? Im a lil confused...
If you use the 90up integra calipers you don have to grind. My kit came with very good instructions and was very easy to install, also if you do get the integra calipers I woul invest in a 15/16 master cylinder. I got one for an 89 accord lxi and it only cost $25.
Thanks for posting the question
. I just got and installed a fast brakes kit. It works great except that the pads are the old EBC green ones and make a TON of noise. So I am switching to a stock pad since it is only my daily driver.
