Default ***This car just fell into my lap***

Hi guys. and girl. I've been into the honda scene for a while now and have been around vintage race cars pretty much all of my life so recently when I got a call from my neighbor saying that his friend had a civic exactly like mine that i could have for free, I jumped on the opportunity. ill give ya some pics in a second but first I was wondering what would be the best plan of action for making this into an autcross/ track day car. I doesnt have to be street legal as it will not be on our insurance. anyways on with the pics:

my dad and his race MGTD in the pittsburgh vintage grand prix:

my civic with a zc swap i/h/e:

and the free civic im getting soon:

I first saw the MG photo and thought that was what fell into your lap. In that case, I'll stand near you and see what other cool stuff is falling.

The Civic looks good and would be a good project that can go a number of directions. Keep your head about yourself and don't go crazy. Use the search a lot because there is a crazy amount of really good info and some very experienced people to draw on here. Welcome to the group.

Looks like a 91 DX. D15 with dual-point fuel injection puts it in NASA H4 or SCCA ITC. Great Car. Mine went 250K on the original engine before I swapped in a B18. The D15 was still running strong and not burning or leaking a drop of oil at 250,000 miles...

Looks like a solid platform. Also looks like you have future tow ***** sitting next to it.

yes it is a 91 dx. luckily so is my civic so i know the platform and the wiring involved. also since my interior is pretty beat, ill have a donor for some stuff. anybody know the other guidlines for ITC? I'd like to race with my mechanic Mark Connoly of McB Autosport and I believe he has an ITC car. I see ya'll liked the pics of the MG well heres some more for the curious:

all pictures are from the pgh vintage GP

That MG is gorgeous. And it appears to not shed parts while racing....

'91 Dx is still an ITA car.

It should move to ITB eventually. Only the Civic Standard (with the 4 speed) is in ITC.

My dad has a red '51 TD. It is his baby. He had a bunch of work done on it a couple of years ago, and it never really ran right after that. It would like an owner that knows how to work on it. Let me know if your dad would be interested in a low mileage California car.

Car is an original '51 MG TD Mark II. It's the factory racer version with bigger carbs, dual shocks on each corner, etc. He's the second owner since '68. But now he refuses to sell it. I'll keep working on him though. I could always use another garage space.
