Default 96 Prelude, What engine Options do I have?

Background i just picked up a 96 prelude that has a broke timing belt for 600 bux. I am planning on puttin a belt on it and see what kind of damage there is to the values and stuff... But, since this engine is extremely hard to find for a 96.... I was wondering what my options are? JDM replacement? Rebuild the engine myself? I think the h23 has about 160hp, wouldn't mind getting a little more when i am finished... Any Thoughts and options will be greatly appreciated...

Thanks guys...

Get a 95 or earlier (obdI). If you plan to build the engine (sleeve, pistons, cams, valvetrain) dont waste $ on JDM. If you just want to put in an engine and be done with it, get a JDM.

Just the normal JDM 160hp engine replacement? Does anyone know what it takes to convert to a jdm, since the jdm is odb1 and the 96 is odb2?

Thanks Guys

So I can get a JDM engine, then just put on all my external and they will bolt on with out any problem? then everything will work?

Just do an OBD1 conversion and use the OBD1 ECU. If your gonna go crazy with cams, OBD1 is the easiest/cheapest to tune.
