I'm building a 500whp SOHC Vtec Turbo. I need solid mounts. Do you have pics? send to jjeanlouis@yahoo.com

So this is an actual insert pressed into an OEM mount?

Default inserts

Usually the way inserts work is that they are usually made of poly eurethane and what they do is fill out the gaps in your rubber stock mounts, but they still LOOK like after market mounts made with stock metal, if you know what I mean. But the downside he was bringin up is that since the mounts don't flex anymore, vibrating motor=vibrating chassis. Good for power, bad for comfort

if you got solid mounts that could severly damage your subframe and it will rattle the crap out of the car. If you just got some full race poly mount inserts then that will be more then sufficient.

you can try Prothane inserts...i used it for 2 mounts(tranny side and timing side)..but the problem was that, it rattled the **** out of the car..so after 2 days of it, took out the timing side..but anyways..the Prothane are for drag/turbo setup..so this might be up your alley..

check ebay they have it all time.

A few quick questions:
Do you think I am going to need to purchase brand new oem mounts and then buy the inserts? Or do you think I can find some used free mounts and then do the inserts? I found some inserts for a 92-95 civic, but I presume at least two of the mounts are different from the 88-91 right?

Couldn't you just buy the hasports then modify them to work correctly?

If you can get 500hp out of an A6.. then this shouldnt be a problem.

I drilled holes in the "Place" units I had when I was B16'd
toned down some of the vibration
