Is that thing very rare? How much is it worth nowadays? Is it a track bike or would it be a good starter? sorry for the n00b questions

Its quite rare to find a street legal one. When I was about to sell it, some guy in socal contacted me and said he was looking for a titled one for over a year. I can easily sell it for about $6000-6500. Prices range from $5500-8500 for a 94+, depending on condition. I saw one go for near $10k a few months back but that thing was mint condition and had a crap load of upgrades.
Its not a really good starter bike since its a 2-stroke (no power below 6k rpm). Fairly high maintenance bike. I just finished a top end rebuild last week (piston rings, bearings, wrist pin). They need a new top end every 12k miles (less depending on how you ride) and a new crank ($600) every 20k miles

about $140 for rings, bearings, wrist pins/clips, and gaskets. Luckily my pistons were in good condition or else add $130 to the rebuild price.
Heres a nice titled one for sale....good price too (those JHA pipes are about $1200 new)
