Default Is there a special key to install stock cam gears?

I had a problem withthe head on the gsr. Took it out to find a bad head gasket. When I put the head back on got everything on a Iw as with a mecahnic and he says the cam gears stock have a special key to put them back on. When I took it off there was only bolts. Is there a special key to put the gears back on?

there should be a woodruff key that is needed to install the cam gear onto the cam. go to a auto store and they are like 50 cents. Just make sure you get the right key that fits in the groove on the camshaft.

Before you start your car, use a magnet and shove it down at the crankshaft gear and waterpump gears to make sure that the stock keys arent wedge in there when you took the gears off in the first place. You will have problems if it is in there.
