Default When should I realize that I'm over my head?? Bodywork question?? Please help.

Well I'm fairly new to the Honda scene.I just bought an 88 Civic with 59,000 original miles off ebay (I know,I know I should have really looked at the car before I bought it).Well the guy had good feedback and answered all of my questions truthfully.Drivetrain is mint, runs like a top.
Where I need help is on the bodywork. Both rear quarters will need replacing if I'm going to do it right, front fenders I'll probably do carbon fiber if I keep the car, fenders, bumpers all that stuff is easy to replace. It's the rear quarters and door jams and sills I'm worried about.Alot of Bondo and alot of rust through.I love the car, fell in love with it on the 40 min. ride home but I just get the feeling I'm over my head here.I started grinding off the paint where it was bubbling some ares go right to bear metal others are all pitted and some have 1/8 of an inch thick bondo.I know it's hard to find this body style rust free and again I do love the car but is it worth it to grind the **** outta this car and spot weld and bondo it all over again, how long will it hold up anyways if I do it this way?? I just don't want to put my blood, sweat and tears into something and have it rust again in 2 years.Any suggestions or help would be greately appreciated. If anyone on here knows bodywork I'd gladly take some pics and send them to you so you could let me know what to do.I would be forvever appreciative, you guy's have been great so far. Thanks for taking the time,

CUT OUT ALL of the rust on it and weld new plates on. Don't just grind it
