Default McCulloch or TECHONE HID's ??? Which one is better?! HELP!

Interested in which brand i should go with. I really dont have alot of money... but if the McCulloch's are really that better, than I will fork out the extra dough. Looking to buy them in the 8000k's ONLY. What are your opinion's on these brands?

The higher the k, the less light output. 4300k is what you should be looking for. Also, dont buy a HID kit, do a retrofit. Plug and plays suck.

Surely there not ALL the same. I understand the higher the K the less output...i've done extensive research & this topic seems to be the only one I can not find... I need help in choosing which kit.

ok first of all. the HIGHER the k the brighter. normal headlights are around 4300K. The number also somewhat determines the colors. for instance a white beam will be in the 6500-7000K range while 8000 gets into blues. you can only go to 12000K and then it get dimmer. and basicly the kits are all about the same. the only part that is different is the ballast and how it plugs up. I have a GHC kit and its been no problem and I've had it for a long time.

Incorrect. Output begins to decrease above approximately 4300K. Normal halogen headlights are typically around 3200K, while factory HID capusules are 4300K.

The number indicates the color temperature of the light being produced. It does not refer to the amount of light output.

you are sooooooooooo wrong! I've been selling HID kits and headlight bulbs out of my tuner shop for years. the regular bulbs say clearly on them that they are 4300K HIDs START at 6000K and go higher not lower. learn your science.

Regardless of the fact that you've been "selling HID kits and headlight bulbs for years", you clearly have little knowledge of them or the science related to them. Everything I posted above is 100% correct. If you are going to administer advice to those seeking it here on the forums, it would be helpful for others if you first took the time to ensure that it is accurate.

Wow, this is such misinformation that, wow. I can't think of a much better candidate for a ban.

This man speaketh the truth. Not to mention that all HID kits are completely illegal. There's enough blinding of oncomming traffic with misaligned headlights, ricer blue bulbs, and just badly designed SUV headlights to begin with. Please don't add to it with a HID kit in a halogen housing.

isn't that funny to see that people now and days don't even know anything about their product that they're selling.

OMG you are such a dumbass...have u ever studied the lighting spectrum?...4100k is the range where the light is the BRIGHTEST light...4100-4300 is the brightest white...all OEM companies use 4100-4300 with the exception of bmw and nissan which sometimes use 5000k and bmw's 6000k phillips ultinon bulbs...

6000k is not brighter than 4300k...HID mean hid intensity discharge and you can have HID lighting at many different color temps 3000k is the yellow color temp and 4100k is white...6000k you get slightly more blue and 8000k is really blue and 10,000k is extremely blue but once u pass that its starts to get into the ultra-violet spectrum

and xenon isnt the only type of HID lighting (only one for cars) there are many types: HPS(high pressure sodium), metal halide, mercury vapor, etc....

yessir as everyone else has said, you need to get your facts straight. Everything you have said so far has been 100% wrong. If you continue to spread false info I will start reporting your posts.

To the original post, 8000K is going to suck, doesn't matter what you get. I had 4300K Philips lights in my factory projectors for about a year, and it sucked compared to OEM HID projectors. 8000K is going to be about as good as some high-wattage PIAA bulbs or something.

Do it right or don't do it at all. Retrofits are the only way to go IMHO.

The sun is also a different gas (gases) than in your headlights.

Please do not get 8k, you'll bitch 2 weeks later when you get pulled over from some cop you blinded while he was going the other way.

Whether you like it or not, it's the truth
