Maint Reqd light, cant turn off!

when you turn the car on have your finger on the square button under the dash. hold it till it shuts off(about 30 seconds)
you can find it by reaching in a come hither motion.

Maint Reqd light, cant turn off!
The light started to blink about 500 to 1000 miles ago, recently for the past 500mi it has stayed on all the time and wont turn off. Im at 120k and figured that thats why it was on. Is this a problem?
