water in my 98-01 all-read tails..

whats up all... I just got some 98-01 all-red coupe tail lights... but when I got them, they had water in them! My friend that sold them to me says that it is because the tail light gasket is no good, and the water got in that way... there isnt a whole lot, but it is mainly AROUND the reflectors and turn signals... I've never seen this before... can anyone verify whether or not this will be fixed by a tail light gasket or if these lights are junk??
this happens on all tail lights, you can get a new gasket from honda (30 bucks or so if i remember correctly) or just open them up...dry them out and put some silicone and slap them back together. basically the seal goes bad, its an easy fix either way.
just solved this problem on my car with a pair of brand new factory tails (my previous ones had the corner broken off where it meets the quarter panel) but my gaskets had also gone south. replaced one gasket and used silicone to seal the other and havent had any water in my lights or spare tire well since.
My car came like that too. I just put silicone around them to seal any leaks. No more water could get in and the condensation eventually dried. I found an article on it before, but I'm feeling too lazy to look for it now. If you want it, ask me and I'll post it up.

put silicone around them... meaning, you put silicone around the outside red reflecting plastic stuff?? I've read that article on 'drying out and sealing your aftermarket tails' on team-integra... just need to know if the problem is with the headlights, or if it is just the gasket.... I'll find out soon, i suppose!
