YOu don't need no 18000km service. Nothing is done at the dealer besides oil change and a kick in the tire. Unless you know you track the car and you have toasted the brakes, other than that you are just donating money to the dealer. Hope it's for a good cause.
Here is the list i did this time :
MAINTENANCE TYPE 1
Regular scheduled maintenance inspection
Replace engine oil ( my own oil )
Replace oil filter
Replace drain plug gasket
Check coolant , brake & Transmission Fluid Levels
Check Collant condition & Protection level
Check lights horn & wipers
Check Battery
Inspect Exhaust system
Top Up windshield washer fluid
Adjust tire pressures & inspect wear
Lubricate locks , hinges & door seals
Repair left front tire for nail
Remove tire from rim and carry out internal patch repair
it charged me 70 CAD !!

thats cause you get the first two serices free..........then you gotta pay out the ***........18,000 kms is like a $350 Can. Service at my Acura
If your dealer is charging big bucks for an 18000 km service, go elsewhere...
The 48000km service is the expensive one because it includes a valve adjustment, trans oil change and lots of other stuff. Personally I don't go past about 10000 without adjusting my valves but of course I do it myself so it only costs me time...

I am from Toronto too.
Only the first 2 services are free. The dealer doesn't make too much money by selling cars. I talked to my uncle, who is a sale's rep. A car sold to a customer without coming back for service, the dealer lost about $1000 on an Accord. you go figure. They charge alot for doing stupid ****, check level etc... They charge you just for LOOKING at the fluid level. That's BS. Plus, I had HORRIBLE experience with the dealer, they fix one thing, they messed up another. scratched your body, ding yoru doors, these all happened to me before. I have enough of it. I do my work now.

70 CAD is about right for dealer prices. That's about $50 U.S. Figure $25-30 for the oil and filter change and other checks, and $20-25 for the tire repair. You can probably find an independent mechanic who will charge you slightly less. Beware the quickie places though.
