Torque specs on stock b18a1
Hello, I've done a search on this but only found hybrid info (ls vtec, etc.) I'm replacing the head gasket and I need to know the torque specs on a stock b18a1. Got an autox this sunday at homestead lol gotta be ready for it. All help is appreciated.
start out in the center, torque to 21lb ft, then after you do all 10, start the sequence over and torque them to 61ft lb. go to a parts store and buy a cheap harnes or chiltons manual for the actual sequence.
yea, cams come out bro...
here's the torque sequence...

i have the book if you want it...
anywho my service manual says...
[quote]Tighten the cylinder head bolts in two steps. In the first step tighten all bolts, in sequence, to about 30 Nm (3.0 kg-m, 22 lb ft); in the final step tighten, in the same sequence to 85 Nm 8.5 kg-m, 61 lb ft).
Note:
Apply engine oil to the clinder head bolts and the waserhs.
Use the longer bolts at positions No. 1 and No. 2.
Hope this helps...

Thank you very much!! Too bad the last person who tightened the head overdid it. On wednesday I broke 3 14mm sockets (craftsman) trying to take out #7. I had to give it all I had to take out the last 6 bolts. I calculated it easily at over 200ft lbs. Those bolts were tight. I ended up striping #7 a little bit and thats where I stopped. Im putting everything back together and im getting new bolts and a good socket to take out that stipped bolt. Thanks for your help!
