hey guys...any of you know about the REAL spoon ecu's? not a chipped ecu with the spoon program, the real spoon ecu. they come in stages from 1-5 i believe. i have a chance to pick up a REAL spoon ecu stage 4 for $100 when i buy my motor. anyone have any info on this ecu and about how much they cost if bought from spoon? thanks in advance for any info!

 

umm as far as I know a REAL spoon ECU would cost over 10 times that ammount

 

There were no "stages" for the Spoon H22a ecu. But there were several versions sold for the various VTEC prelude versions available in Japan. They include: MT Prelude, MT Prelude with TCS, AT Prelude, MT 4ws Prelude, and AT 4WS Prelude. The Spoon H22a ECUs were only for OBD1 cars.

They are listed at 80,000 yen on the Spoon website (about $615). I'm not sure if that is 80,000Y for the whole ECU with the Spoon program on it, or if it's 80,000Y for Spoon to modify your ECU to their spec. I would guess that it's the latter.

"Real" Spoon ECU for $100? No way - Especially since a plain old regular used Honda H22a OBD1 ECU fetches $350-$400 today... Don't get scammed...

yea, i just found spoons website and noticed that there are not stages. what is TCS anyways? i will check the product code on it before i buy it but im POSITIVE the guy wouldnt rip me off, he is very well known!

he's trying to sell you a spoon program. many places rechip eçu's to spoon, jun, mugen specs.

it's not the real deal but some say close.

Same thing. Both pull the ROM out and replace it with a new one. It's not like Spoon fabricates new ecu's with their bare hands.

 

well either way he said he would give it to me for $100 more than the regular h22 ecu. but its the actual spoon ecu. anyone have any info on the spoon ecu?

 

i just need to know the specs on it. upgraded fuel maps and removed speed limiter im guessing are both modified. anything else? im going to pick it up sunday so i need the info before then. thanks guys!

 

you shuld've said 100 more than stock ecu to begin with, that sounds more resonable.

 

well i said it was coming with a swap so i figured you would know. my bad.....so does anyone know what spoon upgrades on their ecus??
