Default Oil Pump?

Ok guys ive been reading alot around the forums and online...and i keep seeing people using Prodrive oil pump gears...Where are these gears coming from...i cant find anywhere to buy one...ive searched ebay...google...yahoo..and cant find where to buy one for an LS block...Im currently building an LS/VTEC turbo motor and i want to upgrade the oil pump or something...

any other suggestions on the upgrading the oil pump would be appriciated...

Thanks, JMAN

toda makes oilpump gears, or you can just go with an itr/gsr oil pump and it will work fine on your lsvtec

they are probably cheaper than the Toda/Pro Drive units too. I know I paid 83 shipped for my ITR pump.

the ITR oem pump will work fine for your lsvtec turbo

if you want to go all out you can get an external dry sump oil system

Or you could get a Spoon oil pump. It is a stock Type R OEM housing, with an upgraded gear. Should be way more than enough. A stock Type R oil pump will be enough for your setup, unless you are spinning like 10,000+ RPM, which on a turbo street motor, is pointless, unless you are running a dump truck turbo, and it doesn't spool until 7000rpm.

That Spoon Oil Pump is $300 from modacar, can you justify the need for the oil pump other than saying its mad tyte jdm?

Here's a link if youre interested in blowing $300, IMO the Stock ITR unit will suffice for street use.

I didn't recommend it, I was just saying, if he's worried about a stock type r pump not being enough, he could go this route. A stock Type R pump will be just fine.

IMO, if a stock ITR pump isnt enough then, expletive it convert to a external pump dry sump kit.
