there are a million options. Ill offer some suggestions.

get some higher compression oversized pistons (CTR or custom)
thin headgasket
port/polish head
quality header
valve job, maybe oversize valves
big cams, better valve springs
big injectors (440s probably sufficient)
tuning tuning and more tuning

should be good for over 200whp, probably closer to 210-215ish give or take

from what you have listed it sounds like a bad *** setup but my only suggestion is for some decent "nice na power.." i would look into different cams like (toda, or jun), maybe some valves, and maybe getting your head PnP'ed. now the issue about rods and pistons i think it is more of a personal preference (on a side note manely makes some bad *** rods). from what i have seen in the All motor forum head work is a very popular modification to do for NA build-ups and it yeilds some pretty decent gain

good luck

stock rods are fine as long are you are revving the **** out of them. keep the stock R limiter (if we are talking about an R here). might wanna polish, balance the crank, use ARP rod and head bolts.

Nice N/A power and work to the bottom end....

Sleeve the block, bore it to 84-85mm or if your feeling froggy, bore it to 86mm.

Run high compression pistons and appropriate rods.

There is actually a lot of useful information in the all motor section. I'm in there all the time reading up.

I had my block sleeved by Benson via Earl Laskey, and I could not be happier. Turnaround time was fast; 2.5 weeks for shipping, all machine work, assembly, and return shipping. Ask people how long it takes to get a block back from AEBS or GE.

With the cams you're running, I'd recommend somewhere in the 12.5:1 range. That would be ideal, because you can still run aggressive ignition timing on pump gas.

A little info on my build:

If you want to stay rather cheap...

OEM B16A2 pistons
Crower ML or Cunningham steel rods (711, ~900)
CP rings

Wiseco 5cc dome pistons.

Compression around 12.0:1

How do you "blueprint" with ACL bearings which are all the same size?

That was a cut and paste from Earl's price breakdown from last year when I built the motor. Ask Earl.

I'm going to assume he measures piston/wall clearance, ring gap, and makes sure that the bearings are 'within' spec, even though they are one-size-fits-all.

Gotcha... regardless that is a great price. I don't know how they can do all that for under $500 and stay in business!

"blueprint" with ACL's the same way you resize a rod for rod bolts. Not a method I'd use though.
