so im loosing it(or at least trying to) by turning it counter-clockwise correct? ive broken three ratchets, two extentions, and an adapter trying to get this thing off... btw i dont have access to a harmonic balancer remover or impact gun so im using a 4 ft breaker bar

It is just tight as hell. My friend and i made a bar. We took an impact socket and welded it onto a 6 foot bar and that broke mine loose and it also broke my tight *** axles loose. We just got different size sockets welded on the bar.

righty-tighty, loosy-lefty

use alot of rust penetrant or pb blaster, it helps. try using an impact if you can.

when i took mine off, i took out the starter and jammed a flathead in between the flywheel teeth to hold it in place and then i took a long *** extention to get it off.

hope this helps

when i did my timing belt on my b16, that pulley wasnt movin for sh*t..so i actually took the time and had to buy the special tool off ebay that goes into the crank pulley to hold it in place it was like 35 $.. what i did was i put that tool into position, lowered the car on the ground so that the tool was wedged and could not move counterclockwise..put the car in gear and proceeded to use a 1" breaker bar with an extension and a pipe on the end of the bar and jumped on it until it cracked loose..it sounded like death kinda like nails on a chalkboard.. so good luck with it and i think everyone on here is with me when i say that thing is a biotch..

yeah im with you too bro lol... well im not having any problems keeping the crank from moving b/c this is my old z6 with two nice big holes in the front and back(threw a rod @ 6k rpm ) so i just have a bar running through the engine to keep it from moving... ive broken all the tools listed above and ive had my stepdad(6'7" and 275 lbs) jumping on a tire iron trying to get it loose while i pull up on the other side roflmao... ive also used about 3/4 can of pb blaster on it too... i guess im asking for an impact gun for my bday

sometimes just beating on a half inch drive breaker bar
with a hammer will do it
after a few minutes of beating
