Default Watch your car cams via the internet!

Ok, heres my idea ..

#1) get a hidden Video Cam for your vehicle? - easy enough
#2) get an old laptop hidden in the vehicle. - easy enough
#3) get pcAnywhere software (access your PC from any computer)
#4) get mobile gps internet card for laptop - easy enough

Soo .. cam images run to a laptop with a 24/7 connection to the internet via mobile card. Then you just get PC Anywhere and play with your laptop as usual from any location ..

Only thing that might be expensive is cost of the mobile card..

Anyone see anyproblems with this setup? ..

FYI, there's a new but shitty reputation alarm system that comes with a camera and if it gets triggered, it takes still images of where ever you've pointed it (hopefully at the suspect) and sends it to your two remote transmitter. If I can remember who makes it, I'll let u know.

as a computer technician i must say, it may work. but it isn't worth the hassle or cost in my opinion. you'd be better off just looking out your window.

gps card will not have a fast enough connection to stream video. maybe only images. plus, an old laptop will not run remote access software well at all.

also, cant forget about the amount of memory your main computer will use. it will not only slow down your regular computer if you dont buy a seperate one to act as a server, but it will also end up taking a huge huge huge amount of memory on the hard drives which can get expensive as well.

i mean hey, its possible, but i think you'd be better off spending that money on a good lojack or dei gps system.
