Default Will These Work Fine?

I just bought a '98 Accord and it came with a set of Motegi 17x7 RT5 rims. They will fit a 4x100 or 4x114.3 bolt pattern. If anyone could help me to understand what "offset" means and tell me if these wheels would be fine on my '92 Prelude Si that would be great. Thanks.

what is the offset?
offset is the measure of how close or how far away the rim will be to the hub.

Higher offsets are closer into the car and lower offsets are farther away from the car.

AT THE LOWEST a 42mm offset on a prelude. 45mm is a good one.

If its a 17X7 and not at least a 45mm offset u are gonna rub most likely. Also they are gonna be VERY heavy and take a good amount of accel away so be prepared.

19lbs isnt all of it. Stockers are around 17lbs I believe.
A larger diameter is gonna add to the power needed to turn the wheels making it harder on the engine and losing acceleration.

Good 17" rims can be much lighter than 19lbs.
I have 17" motegis that weigh 24lbs a piece
so i doubt that urs way 19lbs. But im not 100%

So you think the official Motegi website isn't telling the truth when they said "19 lbs."?

I know that a larger diameter results in more weight, but less tire also results in less weight. Are you saying that a stocker with a 205/55-15 size tire will weigh less than the Motegi with a 205/40-17 size tire?

I had 18" x 7.5" rims on my Prelude; they had an offset of either 42 or 40mm, IIRC. Rubbed over hard bumps/corners, but not too bad.

IMO, those wheels should be fine.
