yeah...you could throw a B16 head on the LS and boost that bitch or throw some CTR pistons in it

if it's a hatch b16 would be fine I guess. But if it's a coupe you need to go with a b18a/b or even with c.

B18b is a great starting platform. Personaly I stand behind them as far as a cheap swap. Turns out cheaper then b16 swap and with a right tranny it will rip them ********.

LS with b16 tranny rips

Stuff that is best when you got the B16
-better tranny
-famous Vtec

LS B18b
-more displacement more torque

Build any B series and you got some serious HP

I would suggest the LS, as you will have more options later for improvement. Here local more and more people are building LS/Vtecs and they are pretty quick.

b18b is a better day to day swap. Plenty of power down low and good cruising gears.

Everyone says the ls is good because you can go ls/vtec, but I say the b16 is better if you plan to go ls/vtec. It is cheaper to buy a ls block and throw some b16 pistons in than it is to buy a vtec head, ecu, and trans.

Finally someone else who thinks rationally. B16 is 10x better than an LS swap and has 10x more potential too. It's much easier to get an LS block when you have a b16 so you can reuse the head and tranny rather than having an LS swap and having to buy a b16 tranny and head.

all motor LS without vtec can lay down some serious power. Vtec head isn't critical to making power on LS. There are planty people putting down the same numbers with built LSs as most guys with b18c.

if you have the money and patience, buy a complete b16 and get a LS block with some itr or b16 pistons in it and transfer everything from the b16 over. then u have a semi built LS VTEC. but if you dont have the money just do the LS swap

if you don't want too much work get either a b16 or b18 compared to a ls vtec. but the ls has mad torque
