Question about trading in used bikes to dealerships...
How do I ask this...
OK, lets say I am purchasing a new unit from a stealership that is worth around $6000.... how much tradein value can I apply to it before the dealership says no? Say for example if I had something I wanted to trade in that was worth $5000, would the dealership do it?

Sure the dealership would let you trade a $5,000 bike. But if the bike your are trading in retails for 5 grand they wont be giving you 5 grand.
I know mine aint worth 5 grand, I was just using that as an example. I was kicking around the idea of getting a scooter. If I was going to get one of the big ones (Reflex, Bergman 400, Morpheous) I would have traded in my bike.
But, I think I'm going to stick with a little guy, like an Elite 80. They top out at 50 though, which is kind of bad, but liveable, 105 mpg is really liveable!. I wish Yamaha still made the Riva 125, 2 stroke power, 85 mph top speed!
I work pizza delivery part time and have been given the green light to use a scooter. It has been tearing up my car pretty bad.

Well the silverwing retails for more than $7000, but the one I am looking at, the Elite 80 retails for $2349. I think I will probably just keep my bike and buy the 80.

Pizza delivery with the scooter is just a stepping stone. Next will be Bang Scooter!

FWIW, selling the dealership your bike and then buying one from them is a sure way to get bent over twice. You will always get more money by selling your bike privately, although it will take more time to do so.
The Elite 80 is pretty damn reliable. Plus, it's none too pretty, so most likely if anyone jacks you, they'll take the pizza and leave the scooter.

just what you are looking for. As i looked at the prices of scooters they seem to be very cheap for something only a few years old with low miles. id go that route over a brand new one.

Yes, thats the plan. and to have something to get around town in. 105 mpg would last forever here.
