Another Idle question
Hey guys i have a 99 civic hatch dx i.e 1.6 non vtec. I have a problem with my idle when it's cold it idles at 1700 rpm not bouncing around or anything but then settles down at 1200 after a min or so then if i accelerate and push the clutch in it idles at around 2000- 2200 rpm not touching the gas, then after a 10 secound calms down t0 1300 rpms. problem seems to go away when it's at normal operating temperature, but idle's around 900 is this high?. I know there have been many post on the topic but i don't know where my iacv or thermo idle valve or whatever are. if your could please point me to a thread that can help or explain it to me a bit i'd apreciate it alot thx.
I've also search for like an hour or two through thread thrying to find what i need to know and can't find what i'm looking for sorry for the re-thread

Man, I wish my car idled at 900. Right now she sits at 2200 (32k cold), and let me tell you , it sucks. I have a vacume leak that I found, but not on the hoses, I have a blown head gasket, not too bad, but the damage is there. I say all of this becasue my Idle is consistant. When it is consistant, the likelyhood of sensors being a problem in this regard seems to be minimul, though it is ALWAYS a good Idea to check them. A getto way you can check for vacuum leak on your hoses is to spray them down with carb cleaner at the connections. If the engines revs higher then you have your culprit. Wish you luck.
