if i were to get a body kit is it true that most body kits are not fit for your car and most must be cut and altered to fit? what brands do u prefer?

most people on here will tell you they would rather go to hell than kit a civic....but its tru on the off brand not so well made body kits...buy from reliable sources and good brands and it should be a good fit...but it also kinda depends..like if the car has been in any kind of accident...evrything might look straight but it might not be "TRUe"

whydoes ever1 hate them so much? is it because any ricer in the world can strap on a kit and call himself a streetracer? imho kits can look just as clean as lips if u do them right

the problem is that some body kits don't flow well with the whole car's appearance...

some good ones though are backyard special and cwest front bumpers... they still look stock, but aggressive stock, lol

iHEARTcwestKIT I almost bought one, but got a good *** deal on oem+typer style lip, so I didn't. Just don't do your kit all different colors and not painted and stuff, unless you are waiting for paint. And even then, not a long time, kk?

Here are a few reasons why so many people don't like body kits:

I will admit that in 2004 when i had my eclipse i bought one but here is the issues, if you buy fiberglass it will crack/chip so easy and fast. urathain will not crack or chip but both reguire you to remove your "safety bars" behind the bumpers.. I would not do it, i sold the kit after i found that out, But fiberglass if it does not fit you can cut it in half and make it bigger but that takes $$

imho, body kits on hondas are for 16 year old kids
i think certain kits look decent on rear drive cars like silvias/supras
but there are very very few that look nice on hondas

but do what YOU want and think is nice

voltronr34.... i think that tose kits look nice in my opinion and the first one is my favorite. but anyway i do like kits on civics just look around for the one you like. go to andysautosport the have a pretty wide selection. if you get one make shure that you have a friend helping you that knows what hes doing or go to a body shop. and also try to pick a name brand it will fit better less time/money for your or the shop

some bodykits actually look nice, but most of them are just too flashy. what i dont like most is some dude in a civic having a front kit thats primed, skirts blue, and the car is green. at least have the whole car in 1 color

for a decent body kit, middle class quality, what would it cost, to be painted bought and installed? estimate. if its as much as im thinking it will be then its def. not worth it. ive read where the majority of them have to be altered.

pretty much any major body kit you buy is going to need to be altered in order to fit properly...on the other hand you can buy some very tasteful lip kits that fit very well without modification in most circumstances

In anybody's opinion.... What are some of the better brands of body kits, as far as fit and durability go?

Everyone is entitled to their own OPINION. i mean everyone has heir own taste.. well almos everyone some people are just plain posers. but kis vary in price alot soem from like $350 all the way to like $3000. But paint and install will prolly run like $750 - $1000.

But as for me kits are ok it is a way of personal expression.. that being said sometimes they are offensive

if you get a body kit, make sure its a funstional kit, like a true Cwest, mugen, not some off name brand all looks that acctually makes your car lift at high speeds..

as if your going to go fast enough that it matters
but yea, cwest and mugen are nice
i would think any crazy kits like in the pics are just screaming for police attention
