The belt on my crx did not retract and sometimes would dig into the door panel when closing the door. After doing some research, I found out that Honda has a lifetime warranty on their safety equipment. I went to a local dealer and got the retractor replaced for free - something I've always wanted to do (get free stuff from the dealer).
There is a safety bulletin floating around on the web somewhere. If the dealer gives you crap, you can show that to them.
When I went in they did not ask twice. I told them that I know Honda has a lifetime warranty on safety stuff and showed them the problem. That was enough.
I thought of posting this because I read in the window visor thread that people are keeping their belts buckled when getting out.
