sohc overheats above 300 RPMs???

Default sohc overheats above 3000 RPMs???

lately my sohc has been getting really hot if i take it any higher then 3000 rpm's if i stay below that it runs alittler warm but not bad has this happened to anyone? or does anyone know what might be causing it?

forgot to mention check your hoses, somtimes when hosees get old they get soft and they suction in not allowing water to circulate

Your thermostat isn't opening.......Or you have a severely pinched coolant line that could explode at any minute Or you have air in your coolant system like these guys mentioned. The thermostat spring is all mechanical, and you can test it by taking it out and heating it and seeing if it reacts as it is supposed to.

might aswell do the thermostat... when was the last time it was replaced anyway? Do you run out of coolant ever?

i bled the coolent and its still doing it im gunna try a new thermostat.

The Crx doesnt ever get hot without problems. If thermostat doesnt wrk maybe someone tried to put in stopleak or something and clogged the radiator up. Try running prestone coolant flush through it and refill with with fresh coolant.

Or you could stop being lazy and pull the thermostat spring out and heat it and test it and save yourself a lot of time, money, and aggravation.
