SOHC ZC to 8k RPM redline?
Heh, I figured while I was waiting for a reply to my cluster thread: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1530245 I might as well see if I could make use of the new 8k rpm redline
.
Question: SOHC ZC's redline at 7200 RPM's. I was wondering how much it would cost to bump this number up to 8000 rpm's reliably, and exactly how much it would cost.
I know I'm definitely going to be looking into re-flashing my ecu and new valve springs/retainers, but do I need anything else? I've searched, but I'd like to make a definite list of things to start saving for
. Thanks
.
Oh yeah, and please post specific parts (manufacturers) and your thoughts on the said parts

you wouldnt so much have to worry about your bottom end but you would have to build your valve train get cam, titanium retainers, maybe even better valves and you would have to get your ecu chipped to allow youre car to rev that high i woulnt think it is worth it for the money
Valvetrain, pistons and rods, and a big cam so that there is a point to revving that high. I don't know if I trust the stock sohc valvetrain (I mean rockers and such) at 8000 rpm though... can any d series experts chip in?
