I been having my 2000 civic ex (automatic)since it came out on 1999, tune up on 30,000 and right now is on 57,XXX, i been have this stop and enginee turn off problem for about 2 years but it rarely happens. Heres the scenerio: When I come to stop on a red light or a stop sign, my engine usually turns off by it stuff, and the battery and oil lights would turn on. Even though this rarely happens, but when it does happen, my car turns off on everything stop. Any one have an idea wat's going on with my car? Please help

 

Are the RPM's getting too low and the car is just stalling? Give us a little more info.

honda had a recall about cars stalling and shutting down for no reason. is this the same issue?

 

man that sucks, try a tune up. Spark plugs, rotor cap, distributor cap, wires, make shure your coil is good and etc. I have a 98 ex auto with 175k on it and NEVER have had any problems like that.
