tech ???????
my car broke down on side of the road yesterday i had to tow it home after putting gas in it to see if thats what it was because my gas gauge is broke didnt work but i think that it was out of gas do you think running it out could have burned up my fuel pump if you think that its something else please let me know
ok...
first off, punctuation please.
second you're going to have to tell us a ton more than that.
what did it do when it died?
what have you checked?
do you notice anything different now? (other than not starting)
Is the CEL on with the key on? (wait 5 seconds for it to turn off for the bulb check)

well i was on the highway and it wouldnt go over fifty. It kept cutting out, acting like it was dieing idle would drop drastically i went a little further then it just died. I killed the battery from tring to start it so i tryed to jump it after putting gas ing and it still wouldnt start
I ran out of gas one time and it did exactly what you are describing. I'm not exactly sure thats what the problem is though. But to answer one of your questions, if you constantly run your car sort of low on gas and you ran it out this time then yes your fuel pump could be shot.

good news to nobody but myself. swapt fuel pump. My car started just fine with a little jump. changed the float too, my fuel light actually works now. hopefully wont be runnig out of gas anytime soon. It's still running kinda poopy though and still rev limiting at about 5800 rpm's still cant figure that one out
finally figured out my other problem. On my vtec pressure sensor one of the prongs in the female end was bent so it wasn't getting any connection. No more early rev limit.....
