Default Will the NRG Engine Damper for 96-00 fit 99-00 Si?

Got a kit from a friend, he said it would fit, but one of the reps at NRG said no.

Has anyone mounted one on a 99-00 Si?

No instructions on how to mount either.

Thanks,

those are made for the specific car. ie. 96-00 is for all single cam 96-00 motors. you have to buy it for the car. they are not swap friendly. i am not sure if they make one for the si or not. i have only seen them for d-series motors.

That's was my understanding after talking to NRG, but it looks like some people are mounting them anyway.

Thanks!

I mounted mine perfectly on my b18c, in a 97 civic hx. I got the 96-00 kit as well.

i would say that the mounting bracket would go to the car, so it would be pretty universal from 96 - 00, even with a DOHC

Helps stop the engine from rocking back when driving hard or shifting.

I'd think that NRG knows if it will fit or not.

I don't doubt that it will fit, but will the geometry be so off to make it not an effective piece?

It's a support piece with limited effectiveness to begin with. changing the operating angle might change how well it works.

Yes you did, because the driver side bracket does not change ever unless you get a HAsport mount. Those two holes where the studs come through will always be in the same spot making it easy to bolt up that part regardless. The only part that is required for B-series into EK is the "motor side" engine mount and rear T-bracket.

anything over 25?! WTF does that mean?
There are people in the drag-racing forum running 250-300+ and have used these w/o issues.

sicones do a search on 'engine damper' there are lots of decent threads floating around. Alot of poeple have had good results w/ them.

My roomates' NRG Damper broke, and he wasn't even making that much power... He didn't have his upper timing belt cover on, and one of the bolts got down there and shredded up the belt.

So make sure you atleast have your cover on if you put one of these on your car

Loctite Red is all you need to keep the bolts in.

IMO, the damper's okay. I would just skip it entirely and get motor mount inserts. I'm selling mine because the damper gets in the way of tuning your cam gears. I don't want my tuner to get irritated tuning my car My motor mount inserts get the job done just fine, without the gay bling.

they look nice, but i am a proponent of hasport, been using them for 4 years and never once had a fitment issue.

Hasport has greating fitting mounts. I got these Innovative ones off ebay for $230 shipped, which fit my budget a little better than Hasports. They fit perfect and I've had them in my car for a day now and the difference is amazing.
