Trany for b16 turbo
k so i'm goin to buy a b16 si witch comes with a ys1. I'm looking to boost it eventually but i was starting to think about it and i thought that since the ys1 has such short gears it would give enough time for spouling correct ? and if so wich trany would be work well? this would be my first boosted car and so i dunno to much about it i'm still im researching it and all that and yes i searched didnt find what i want. if you find something u can just send me a link if ya like. thanks
Depends how serious you get I have to run a cable LS in my car even taching to 9K+ or else I end up shifting to 5th. If you are not building anything crazy the one you have will be fine. Worse to worse to some vavle-train and tach a little bit higher to increase your gear length.

keep the tranny and get taller tires. im boosted with a Y1 and the taller tires make a world of a difference and are alot cheaper than a tranny. 225/50/25's are 24"

ok as far as getting too serious its goin to be a daily driver but i'm looking for around 300 hp . so thats why i was asking. but thanks anymore info is greatly appreciated and i can use all the help i can get ,lthanks
keep the ys1, no matter what your running shorter gears will be better, running an ls tranny so the turbo "spool longer" is stupid, just keep the ys1
