Exhaust system tubing guage>?

Im building a 2 1/2 exhaust system. It will be made from 304ss, what guage will provide good strength and lightweight? I have 16 guage but i feal its overkill.

16g is overkill but seems much easier to find, especially bends. 18g seems better to me for a street car exhaust
