Default Locking engine bolts (requires a key) Idea stupid?

Whats up h-t
Ok heres an idea for some fabrictaion
Replace your engine mount bolts with bolts that require a high quality key.
I was thinking about it, because lately in my area, 3/4 cars have been stolen in the past 2/3 months, all close friends at that.

It may seem like a stupid idea, but if the person who steals my car tries to take out my engine after they steal it, they are sol. and i know you could cut the mounts and whatnot...

Let know what you guys think...

also if you ever heard of anyone doing this b4...

I havent heard of anyone doing this for engine mounts but I did hear of someone on here getting some special bolts for the s2000 seats when they were getting ripped off left and right?

All the cars that I have seen as recovery around here have been torn apart with a cutting torch. They go right through everything with it. Fuel lines, mounts, wires, ect.

exactly, and they will just cut off the mounts, it will slow them down a bit but i can't see it taking them more than 15-30min extra do take out the engine. With a plasma or oxy/ace torch it won't take them long at all. with a cutoff wheel or sawzall it might take a little longer.

its sad when we have to worry so much about our fixed up economy cars.

dude theres nothing you can do.. when cars get stolen, they usually get stripped down so fast 90% of everything gets cut with a torch, they will just look at your poor attempt and laugh.

chances are if they jack your car, and they find out you boobie trapped it, theyll probably either sawsall it to pieces to get the swap out, or theyll just expletive you hard and light the car on fire and take off.

Trunk Monkey is you #1 Anti-theft Device. I could afford on so my next option was a Leamer. Not as affective, but just as cute!
