Autocross a teg?
Are Integra's good cars to autox with?, or would it be better to pick up a hatch or something?? All opinions would be greatly appretiated. Thanx alot.

I autocrosssed my GSR this weekend and it was incredible. A CRX is easier to make into an autocross beast, but I think the Integra is a whole lot more fun. Check out my pics... http://www.radford.edu/~jlinn/autocross.htm
Sure,
I autoxed my heavilly modded GSR sedan, and did ok at local events. You will not be competitive on a National or even regional level, but it is def fun.
Problem with GSR is class, for example ITR used to be same class and has obvious advantages stock. GSR with mods to get closer to ITR is now in street prepared.
BTW, a CRX is one of the best platforms to be competitive, since it's so nimble and whatnot... If you do mods to make the car fast on the street, like an engine swap, you're now in DMOD or Street Mod or whatever where it is prob difficult to be competitive. You should decide if you want to do it purely for fun, or to be competitive and on what level...
Anyway, I have been out of the loop, so not sure whether rules have changed at all?
Thoughts?

i autocross my gsr in STS.
in my opinion, the gsr is one of the best cars to use for STS class (i think most people will tell you that the best car is the subaru impreza 2.5rs). a gsr won the nationals the first year STS was included and last season's winner in my region's STS class was a gsr.
the car won't matter much if you're a good driver so just drive what you have and have fun!

Thanks alot for the replys guys. I am looking for fun but also a little competitive. I am going turbo in a few weeks will this result a problem? Also what does STS mean, I kinda dont know the terms for autox. I really dont even know what SCCA means! Also if I decided to go all out autox with my teg what would you suggest to start? Suspension, Tie/Sway Bars? I currently have my car dropped with H&R Sport Springs, and Tociko HP's (Blues), I also have a Skunk2 21mm Rear Anti Sway Bar, but it isnt installed I dont have the hardware for it. I was first thinking of going adjustable for shocks, but idunno. Where should I start? Thanx

Bolt-on turbo kits are usually no good for autocross. It's gonna make your car lag... You need quick response and a linear power band. Plus, you will definitely be kicked into a much more competitive class (not sure exactly what, though). Basically, if you are doing SCCA, and you have aftermarket springs and rear sway bar, you are in STS (Street Touring with street tires).
You might want to wait on any further upgrades until you autocross the car, and see exactly what you need to suit your driving style. The first item on my list, if I were you, would be tires, along with an autocross alignment. Until you improve some, you can more or less mimick the effect of adjustable shocks with a little tire pressure tuning. Ultimately, to go all-out, both your shocks and your springs are gonna be too soft for most drivers' tastes.
HTH, Rainmaker.
PS, I used to race my GSR in STS all the time. It was great fun, and I think my car was probably competitive, but I'm not a very good driver yet...

if you are serious about autocross, go here http://www.sccaforums.com/ for some very good info.
rainmaker put out some good points. i'll add some more...
STS (street touring street tire) is basically for cars with I/H/E and suspension mods on street tires. probably the mod that you will notice the most are tires. the sway bar will also make a difference.
a turbo will put you into SM (street mod). very tough competion in this class. almost anything goes as long as the car is street legal and they are allowed to use slicks. a turbo can be competitive. i know a guy who runs a hatch with a B18 and a turbo who does very well at autocross. all he does is runs lower boost (around 7psi?) on the autocross course. he also runs 12s at the drag strip on full boost. if you add a turbo, be prepared to face some tough competition (at least in my region). without r compound tires, you will be lucky to be in the top third. if everyone else is using r compounds.
