I can't see the pics, but it's a big world out there. I'm sure there's more than one idi...person to try and make his own stands.

I have seen stuff similiar to that. There is a link in the tips N tricks section of svrider.com on how to make them. When I first got my sv650s I was going to do that at first, then found the Handy Stands, and decided to spend the $100 for real stands instead.

I had great success with jack stands and long bolts screwed into the rear swingarm.

Thats the ultimate ghetto stand.

Was a bit shakey on putting it up, but never dropped it.

Holy crap I think I remember that picture. Wasn't there a jack (hydraulic or otherwise) involved, too?

FU$^&*G GHETTO! You can get a handy stand for well under 100 bucks. Why even bother with all the hassle?

Lol that's ****** awesome. Is it bad that I looked at that and, being as poor as I am, went "Hmm, never thought of that." lol The second one doesn't look so bad, actually. How bad would that be if you did that and got it welded after you got them all tightened up and whatnot?? I know you guys are gonna say spend the extra money but I need a rear stand and you have no idea exactly how poor I am.

But imagine how much poorer you'll be after your homemade stands fall apart and your bike drops onto its swingarm and/or forks.
