Default C.F. hood fitment....

We all know that carbon fiber hoods "always" have fitment issues. Here's my question, mine bows up a little between front and back (latch and hinge) so there is this annoying gap between the fender and the hood. Anybody got any ideas on how to "relax" it and get it to lay flat, I had thought about taking it to a body shop and see if sticking it in the paint booth for a couple and letting it bake would do it, but wanted some opinions first. I know there's some of you guys that have messed with this stuff more than I.

baking it won't work. your answer is simple: it is how it is. You can't modify the fitment of a carbon fiber piece once it's been laid.

either deal with it or buy another one (which will probably not fit exactly, but in some other way).

it sucks, i know...

are you sure that the position where you bolt the hood to is slid all the way back?

trust me, I've adjusted all that can be adjusted....its a cheaper hood I think...on the car when I got it, and it just has more arch to it then the car itself does.

Mine sits up a tad bit on one side -but i'm just going to get hood pins to fix that. Just can't find any that look right.

ya, had that problem too....thinking of using these instead of hood pins, locking it into the fender and the lock cylinder part is the only exposed part. Seen it done once and it looked really good/clean.

My problem is that they would be like 1/2 way up the hood, dunno how goofy that would look. I'll probably just end up selling the thing and getting another "higher quality" one.

Those won't keep the hood from flying up into the windshield at all. They are for security, not safety....

Although safety is always and issue....not what we were discussing. Thanks for the input though and its definately something to consider.
