ok ok ok, i have a 88 hb with a b16 swap. i just did the dpfi to mpfi and now....i go to start up the car no sparks in 4 and 3 and just sounds like ****.

 

search the achrives but i know you have been here long enough to know that

 

its probably your distributor, check your wiring. i had that code and replaced my distributor and it was gone and my car ran better.

 

well i wired the car. and i have been checking it now. but expletive.....we got fuel in all 4 now.but no spark in 1 and 3. that is our main prob right now.

 

try another distributor because the TDC sensor is in the the distibutor.

 

but like...why would that cause just for 1 and 3 to have no spark

 

not sure on that but i know ur distributor is causing the code. when i had that code my car ran like crap and i didnt check if all my cylinders where sparking but it was misfiring like crazy at low rmp.

Was it because of the distributor?

 

Repinning may have not gone smooth, my buddy had this same problem and swore up and down the wiring was right on his MPFI setup. Ended up being the pins at the ECU, he did not have them in right (upside down) and they did not fire because of this, also threw a code 8 I think but I can't remember to be exact. Just swallow your pride and recheck the wires religously cause it may be that simple (I hope it's not your dizzy though). My friends pin problems were b10 and b12 if I remember right. of course check everything you ran for the conversion good luck

 

I wouldn't suggest it is a bad ground....check all of your grounds
