the other night i was driven and lost control on some balck ice and hit a curb going like 10-15 mph. now when i go to take off in 1st gear my car makes this clunking noise what do u guys think it is. i check the tie rod ends and ball joints they seem to be fine...i really need some help with this i dont wanna **** my car up any more then it already is thanks

 

Does it affect the handling of the car? Where is the clunking coming from? How did you check the ball joints and tie rods?

handleing is the same...and i check the tie rods by jacking up the front of my car and moveing the tire in and out on the side there is no movement and the balljoints by moveing the tire in and out on the top and bottom...

i thining axle maybe

 

your wheels or axles is busted

 

Check the tie rods by pushing and pulling up and down on the tie rod itself. Check the ball joints by jacking up the car under the conrol arm and put a pry bar under the tire and pry up.

Basically you are looking for a loose part, pretty simple, just get under the car and shake some things around.

my wheel is fine just a little chunked...i thought it was the axle ....well i guess its good i have a donor car
