Default Suspension question?

Hi

Just got my Tein S Tech lowering springs in the mail and I called up my guy at the Honda service center and asked him what the install costs were for them. He told me 230 for the front, same for the back, for a grand total of 460 bucks. I found it hard to believe that it would be that much so called back and it indeed was true. Do I have any other options? Is there any other places that will do it for cheaper? Can I do it myself (I haven't done any of the other mod's on my car)?

I have a 04 Lx 4dr 4cyl.

Honda shouldn't even do the install. They normally refuse or a$$ rape you on install prices for aftermarket product.

You need to find a side performance shop. $80-$100 for install.

I actually found a nice custom place to get it done, 230 for everything with alignment, still kind of expensive, but I figure I'll take it in to get aligned at the tire place I go to because I get it done for free there, so that oughta knock some of the price down.

Yup, get the manual and go buy (if you intned to do more) or rent a spring compressor. If you buy it, its like $30 at a car parts store. Jsut take your time with everything and double check yourself. Its not hard at all...more time consuming than anything. Especially if your strut bolts have never been removed. and BE CAREFUL when removing them. On my 5th gen, I always seem to snap the bolt head off and have to drill them out. its a pain in the a$$!
In the end, you will want to get an alignement though...around Cincinnati, they are about $75. So take that into consideration too.

Well, I'm going to get the tools and hopefully do it myself. I can buy all of this stuff at my local auto parts store?

actually, my dad, in all of his wonderous ideas, fronted me the 200 bucks and money to purchase the tools and get the stuff installed, because he doesn't want me ruining my car since it's still on lease. BUT, hes buying it out for college in 2 months so then I can mess with it as much as I want.

In any case I'll buy the manual and jack for future use.
