Default Degraded antenna seal + rain = rust?!

Just noticed that my antenna seal has degraded. The antenna now has a lot of play. I'm thinking that when it rains, water is collecting inside my windscreen pillar (not sure the name?).

Does anyone know if there is a hole at the bottom which may allow water to flow out?

And if it's started rusting, I don't know how I'm gonna get to it to fix it?!

Any advise would be greatly appreciated...

I intend to buy a new seal.

I was more concerned with how to check and fix any possible rust.

I was considering, but I like my radio too much.

So, no one can tell me:
1) whether I should be worried about any rusting? (If there's a hole, I guess I shouldn't worry.)
2) how I can check/diagnose the extent of any rusting?
3) how to fix?

1) The antenna coming out above the drivers side pillar goes down through the pillar INTO the car and then into the back of the radio. If any water would leak through the seal it would travel down the pillar and go behind your dash/steering wheel area and wet the floor and possibly the wires back there. I dont think there would be any rust but i would get a seal so it doesnt short out any wires.

2) Get a new seal and you should be fine. I don think youll get rust.

3) Get a new seal.
