heya everyone! Im going to trade in my civic in little bit and was curious as to how dealers usually price trade ins. I know KBB has a tade in value price as $7,000 in FAIR condition for my 2000 Civic EX, even though it's in pretty good condition. Virtually no dents, great paint. Thing im worried about is that my car is missing AC and power steering as of now. The car only has 60,000 miles on it though. I know Im going to have the price I get for my trade in, but do dealers normally give trade in price? for anyone who traded a civic in recently or works there
It's also lowered with si rims, so I'm kinda worried about them not liking it and giving me a crap offer. Thanks for the help

You're going to lose money on the no A/C
There is a standard price range for the year vehicle.
It all depends how much it would take to get the trade-in car up to par to resell.
- tires
- air conditioning
- paint/dent
Before the car is presented clean everything in the interior, make sure all the fluids are topped off. Armour all the hoses and clean under under the hood. Make the car basically look clean the less that needs to be checked the better off you'll be.
Do I work at a dealership, no. Call one or ask someone in your area who trades in their car alot.

I know the no ac is gonna hurt me, but I just don't wanna be destroyed for not having certian stuff. Im deff gonna give it a special cleaning. I heard that sometimes they don't even check the car. just exterior and maybe give it a quick test dirve and they are good. My car has a brand new front end, some guy hit me with plywood so yea, i think im gonna score big time on my body and paint
put your power steering back. how did you lower it? coil overs? your average lowering springs? and how low did you go?
you may get more by selling it privately than trading it in. good luck to you on it.

Well I know i'll get mroe selling it privately, I think thats a standard anywhere. It's neuspeed race, it's pretty low, but not liek SLAMMED. I don't wana return the ps and ac just to hav them give me a tad extra. plus, I onyl have maybe a week to fix everything and thats tno gonna happen. I do have the pwoer steering, just missing some of the parts. I'll try and fix that up, I was just curious as to what the dealers usually offer. Like someone mentioned above, it's like a set rate, so was wonderinf what those were. like 80% of KBB TRADE IN value? or 60? anyone know?

hehe well, they are not going to sell a car if they give me some ridiculous price
so maybe that'll change their mind. Like i have a completely reaosnable price in mind, i don't think 5000 is bad for a clean body and only missing a few things. the kbb are excludes the price for those items, so yea. we'll see, ill let u guys know if anyone is interested

according to kbb.com trade in value is $6000. Dealerships will always high-ball estimated repair cost for their protection. so i guess minus $2000 for the a/c and $1000 for the p/s. you'll probably get $3000.

now that i think about it, they probly offer you 2-3000, cuz they get these type of cars at the auctions for around the same price. plus modified=lower value. besides it a civic not ntohing rare, they might not even want it
