Default noob question...

hello everyone.im new to this site and recently bought my 1st accord, its a 91 4dr 5sp..my question:my third gear is pretty much shot(from previous owner)jumps out off gear when i let out the clutch, does this mean i should get a new tranny or rebuild,im pretty sure its the syncro?im looking for the cheapest route,im just using it as a beater and soon im going to attempt to drive it from ct. to fl.....also i have one rim on it and three stellies.what other stock wheels will fit,i.e. other hondas/acuras?im looking for either one more steelie or 3 rims that match my one rim i was told its from a 98-00? accord?i dont know but im doing my research on it so i know more about accords now...lol.thanks.

if you suspect abuse, rebuild the trans if it needs it otherwise make the needed repairs.

well i guess from what i was told it just went out, but,he said he raced it a few times after it went out.but all the other gears seem fine and go into gear fine.so im thinking just rebuild,or find another used but good cond. one.

also, i was wondering what if any other trannys will bolt up to my block?its a f22a4.
thanks for the help.

h22 h23 trans will bolt right up and give you better accelleration times at the expense of higher rpms at cruising speeds

Any Honda 4 bolt pattern 4x114.3mm wheel will fit. That encompasses all 4cyl Accords from the 1990 model year to 2002, and Preludes from 1992 to end of production

He will have either the f22a1, a4 or a6 varient of the 2.2L SOHC non-Vtec; depending on Model series (DX,LX EX and SE) for the 1991 model year.

The trans will be a cable controlled Manual transmission with a hydralically controlled clutch.
He is correct, he has an issue with the third gear cluster and syncro ring assembly. I also suspect the shift fork's worn since he complains of it popping out of gear.

yeah the motor is the f22a4 ex.i did some researching on the wheel issue and found what you said, any wheel with the 4x114.3 bolt pattern will fit, which is 90-00+ accord and the prelude 92+.the clutch seems fine,i drove it about 45-1hr. and the clutch grabbed each gear fine.i found a used but good cond. tranny for 250$ so i should be fine for now.thanks for all of your help guys,i really appreaciate it.
