What MSD should be used on ALL MOTOR H22 Civic
Just a run of the mill MSD ignition, not the digital one and not the SCI. I am also using a Blaster SS Coil. I got it all for a decent price, so I figured what the hell.
Is ignition upgrade required? Were builing a bored, high compression, cammed b18c1, and I dont know much about ignition. Stock distributor okay? Thanks for the help.

OEM Honda ignition components are good for some high HP.. I'm not exactly sure what the number is.

No stock ignition is good to 300+ whp I believe, but I got a deal on mine, and I am running really high compression, so why not?

Because I come from the school of "if it aint broke, dont fix it" If the ignition is truly good to 300 HP, we will be all set, no reason to spend money on upgrading the ignition if its a waste of money. were spending plenty of money everywhere else.

If you have a decent amount of hp all motor then you are gonna have ignition problems... it's not "good to 300whp"... that is hear-say bullshit. I've seen it (by it I mean the stock dizzy with basically any wire combo) take 550 personally, even though it doesn't last all that long before parts need to be replaced within the dizzy. All motor hp is somewhat different when it comes to keeping an ignition setup running, and from what I've seen, the dizzies don't like high hp all motor... period... You can have one last for weeks or one that lasts you for 3 dyno pulls, but you're gonna have to replace the ignitor pretty soon no matter what.
I have the stock honda dizzy with MSD wires and I will have an MSD blaster coil soon after I get my car running because those wires have proven in my eyes to be the best out there for a reasonable price. I don't see a problem with running stock wires though, they'll be fine, same with the stock dizzy. If I were you, I would have a stash of ignitors and rotor buttons to replace the internals of your dizzy when need be though. And I would also recommend an external coil if you do not already have one.

i'd stick with OEM wires if i were you...i've seen a RLZ built NA 2.1L lose power with MSD wires.
but once you start getting above 240whp then i'd consider COP

Not a brand, he is talking about a seperate coil for each plug (COP=Coil On Plug).
