Default can a bent spring on the ignition coil cause misfiring?

Just a quick question... i recently changed my cap and button and when i pulled the old cap off, the spring in the coil was caught on the little bolt on the inside of the cap, well now the spring is bent a little and i tried to straighten it out but i couldn't get it quite right. Car has never EVER had a misfire before this point. I will also add that timing belt, water pump, all oil seals and valve adjustment was just done aswell (AT ACURA). Now at IDLE the car will run perfect for a few minutes and then a misfire and then it will run fine again after the single misfire, I have replaced, plugs, cap and rotor, and i have NOLOGY wires. You guys have any suggestions, could that spring cause this?

just change the spring and see what happens, thats all you can really do at this point, just a cheap little spring right?

nope, you have to buy the entire coil.

you changed the coil? was your car doing the same thing or was it breaking up while driving, my car seems to run fine when driving but has this slight misfire at idle. I know everyone probably thinks i'm just being ticky but this car has always ran like it was brand new and I have never heard or felt a misfire in it at all. Everyone I talk to seems to think its in the secondary ignition but i'm really starting to suspect the ignitor or the coil.

ya when my car would go into boost it would break up really bad. i dunno what the prob was and then last saterday it finally got bad enough where it wouldnt crank. so after eliminating everything else it could possible be we figured it was that coil. a new coil for a b16 at advance auto was like 75 bucks. i slapped it in and it fired right up. no hesitation. now it rides smooth

oh ya and before i replaced the coil the actual coil itself was bent. i dunno how it got that way but it was. i tried fixing it but i couldnt.
