Default For those who have done wheel bearings...is this part right?

Well a month ago my wheel bearing on my drivers side started to go south. With the crappy weather here it held me off from getting under the car and getting it replaced. Well I was able to get two new OEM wheel bearings figuring why not replace both so that I know that they are both new and shouldn't have anymore problems. Well I took the assemblys to a local shop to have them pressed in. I got a call from the shop and I had to go back.. It seemed that the "bad" bearing had did some damage to the spindle hub and I needed to get a new one. I so ordered on and finally got it today. I compare it to the OEM factory part but it seems they don't look alike. The part number on the box is correct but sometimes parts get mixed up.. but the two spindles are the same length and diameter just has the different markings. I figured this might the damage that came about but I thought I would rely on my fellow R owners who have had to deal with this before I go to that shop tomorrow and have them press this into the bearing/knuckle. Thanks....

Old school from the Factory part

original part still has a part of the bearing itself on it(shiny piece), it needs to be pulled off before new bearing goes on. Also it being damaged, I am not sure why would hub be damaged, but can not tell much from that picture...

to go with what these guys said, it doesn't look like there is any damage...just that the race is still pressed on. This always happens when removing wheel bearings. I ususally use a sharp bearing puller to dig into the race and then press it out. Go to a more competent shop...or your local Acura/Honda dealership who know what they're doing

if you saw the old hub in person you'd see that the inner race was just spinning on the hub becasue it locked up and chewed away alot of meteral... yeah they are the same tony... just the outer race wasent removed from the junk hub... and use the Macro button on your camera next time
