h22a civic TIMING problems
so for some reason, since the swap was made, we could never figure out this problem. In order for the car to start and function properly the distributor had to be advanced so far that the bolts wouldnt line up properly. basically, the distributor had to be hacked in place bc the timing was advanced so badly. Cam timing was tested and is running stock...I have a p28 chipped for h22...i know it could be a flaw within the computer/chip as I know there have been problems like this b4. Anyone have any suggestions?
Also, I have been leaking oil from around the distributor...I think what might have happened as a result of having the distributor so advanced is maybe in the process, a leak bw itself and the block due to something lining up...not sure if there's a gasket there....let me know.

i'll get a CEL once every 500km I would estimate. Instantly erased when car is shut off and restarted. Haven't gotten a read on the code. I used to get a vacuum leak code due to the cold air. my guess is this is the case even today. Also, not sure if you can use the decoders if as in my situation, using a jumper harness.
gonna do it this week. buddy of mine should have another chipped ecu. i guess if it starts and runs fine with another ecu with such advanced timing, computer might not be the source of the problem. anybody else have any thoughts? also, regarding the leak, if because its advanced so much, would it cause a leak bw the distr. and block? seems like this is where the leak is coming from.

I had the same problem after my swap, I was one tooth off on the cam timing. dizzy had to be completely advanced to accelerate. with the dizzy in the middle, the car would run but bog when you try to accelerate, and if you retarded the dizzy, the motor would die. If that sounds like your problem, redo the timing belt.
