Short shifter installation on '96 Civic hatchback
Searched to no avail. I ran into a problem while installing my short shifter that hopefully someone can solve. I took the exhaust hanger off since the exhaust is in the way of the shift linkage, but the exhaust pipe didn't drop out of the way. I notice there are two exhaust hangers on an EG if I'm not mistaken, but I only see one for the EK chassis and taking that exhaust hanger off was not enough to move the exhaust pipe. Did I miss another exhaust hanger or am just not giving the exhaust pipe enough of a shove to move out of the way? TIA.
?
There's only one, but you'd have to disconnect the rest of the exhaust for it to come down and out of the way entirely. Two at the muffler, and they're still connected to your cat and header.
Don't really know what you're trying to ask. I didn't have this problem, I changed my shifter the day I changed my exhaust.

you will need to take off the two spring bolts connecting the pipe to the exhaust manifold, then it will swing out of the way, no need to remove hangers actually.
