Default what do you pro tuners think of this book

i have seen a book by the name of How to Tune and Modify Engine Management Systems recommended in here before.

my friend is new to tuning and he works at a shop with a dyno and he is using his turbo b18c5 powered ef hatch with hondata s300 to learn to tune on. so far he is getting good power and keeping the air fuel good and so so forth but he doesnt know how to really go much further due to inexperience.

i dont expect this book to be the one stop shop for him to learn to tune with, but do you guys think that a smart person who allready posses a great level of understanding of engines will get something out of this.

he plans to attend efi 101 but who the fvck knows when that will happen.

i would like to get this book for his birthday in addition to the hot oil rubdowns that i normally give him for his birthday. just trying to beat you guys to the gay jokes would ultimatley come from a thread about two guys exchanging gifts.lol.

but seriously, given his situation do you think this will be a good book.

thanks guys.

Great book, I own a copy myself. It goes over some good basics and touches on all the major engine mgt. systems.

I am no pro tuner--but anyone can see it really is an informative book. Will help a good deal if you are tuning the car yourself.

i dont know maybe its was just me...but i read the how to tune engine mangement systems w/ a focus ont he cover...it was informative, but nothing more that i couldnt have picked up here sifting thru pages of threads and spending time over at pgmfi.orq....aside from that ive always looked for in depth books to cover ignition & cam tuning....in depth w/ full egt explanations....aside from that i havent read a book to help me w/ these...which is really what tuning is all about
