I'm using Motul 5.1, which is a clear fluid - but the color of the fluid in the resevoir is brownish. The fluid was changed in October and has seen no track days and 1 autox.

What color should the fluid in the resevoir be? Is brown normal?

My Motul BF darkens up a little after a few months, but I change it frequently!

 

i use valvoline synthetic. I flushed it last dec and it's not as clear as it orig was either. the discoloration is just from dirt accumulation right?

That is what I am wondering, and why I shook my head and came to H-T when I saw it was brown...

 

It is true that the BF is darker inside the caliper, so perhaps that is where the dirt/color originates from?
