I am in the process of cutting some weight on my 92 hatch. I took off the rear wiper, and motor. Now there are 2 holes there in the glass. the smaller one on the left I can just use any generic plug for, but the big hole on the right needs to somehow have a latch on the backside to lock the glass to the tail gate. The latch right now is built into the wiper motor.

How do the models that came with no rear wiper work? I went to the dealership but they couldn't tell on their computers which parts I would need to order. If I can bring them in a pic I think they could compare and figure it out.

especially a pic of the rear glass from the inside would be good

I concure. It helps with the morning condensation. And besides you dnt wanna be guessin how far you are from the car behind you when it rains. you know, like when your leavin a parkin lot.

teal_dx, I'll take some pics of my latch assembly for ya sometime tomorrow.

I have a Canadian CX and like I said, it doesn't have a rear-wiper. when I was getting my car tinted, the retard that was doing it stripped out the threads in the large plug in the hatch that holds the latch to the glass. my latch wobbles around now and isn't very secure at all. I've been to a couple dealers and nobody can find the part number for me, I guess this part doesn't exist on usdm civics or something? can any canadians hook it up w/a part number?

 

I'm in California, it doesn't rain that much but my car gets hit by the sprinklers *shakes head* the rear wiper servers it's puprose. Plus it fogs here and sometimes you get the occasional frost

 

it looks ok to me...i just like my wiper
