15" or 16" size wheels on type r?
This will on daily driven car. Do you guys recommened sticking to 15' wheel or going to 16" wheel? I will probabbly try some track racing in future and no I do not plan on going with bigger caliper, other than those that come stock with car. I plan on using 205/50 -15 tires.TIA guys.
both are fine, personal preference and doesnt matter much for daily driving.
16" will give you slightly better tire options for the track if you dont have a dedicated track wheel already.

Yes, you have a lot more tire choices for 15" wheels (I assume you mean 15 inches even though you said 15 feet
). In addition to those Chris mentioned, you have the Toyo RA-1 track tire in 205/50-15, and the Falken Azenis RT-615 in the same size. The RT-615 doesn't come out in 215/45-16 until the end of the year. You also have a lot more choices of street tires in 15" (195/55-15 as well as 205/50-15), and they're usually less expensive than 16" tires.

Ya right...
If you are keeping the diameter the same as stock (which is 23.5") then there will not be any difference in the wheel gap to the fender...

This goes to the last three stupid post's on top of me. I NEVER SAID THE GAP FROM TIRE TO FENDER. If you get 16's the wheel well will be filled more nicely then it would with 15's because the rim is bigeR. You even said it, its your daily driver, its not like the 15's are going to make a difference so you might as well get what looks betteR

haha .
ok when u look at the tire size
205 / 50 / 15
sidewall: 4.0 "
radius : 11.5 "
diameter :23.1 "
215 / 45 / 16
S.W : 3.8 "
R : 11.8 "
D : 23.6 "
so if you look at the diameter of the tire from center of your wheel hub
15" = 11.5"
16" = 11.8"
so that's not really filling up the gap ..
if you wanna fill up the gap you can just get taller sidewall tires..
what you just said there just dont make any sence

Huh, this thread took a turn for the worst
.
When shopping for new rims I found that a 15x7 size gave me more tire options; hence the 15x7 ce28's I roll on now
. I've played the 17inch game and it wasn't for me
Do you have stock suspension? That will play a role in comfort. With my Tein coils and 17's and a 40 series tire the ride was complete ***. However when I switched to 15's and a 50 series the ride improved, mainly over sharper bumps. Then there is the wheel weight to consider. Are you concerned with that factor?
As of today, if I was in your boat, I would go with the Enkei RPF-1 in 16x7. Lightweight, classic style and just an all-around nice rim. Good for the street and track.

Does your stupid *** not understand that concept, did i put it in terms you could finally understand?? DO you not understand why people get bigger rims? You can post back whatever you want because im not going to respond to this thread anymore since the person who started it already got what he needed

You may not respond but I'm quite sure you will read the future comments. I'm not siding with you or the other boys. Though I'll tell you that for the most part, the people that make up the ITR forum are very analytical so if you happen to missword something, chances are, someone will call it out.
You said 'fill the gap'. It's right there plain as day. Though this is not what you meant as you explained in your quote, it isn't what you said. All I can say is don't sweat it. We're all ******* and idiots every now and then.
Heck I have my own real life spell checker Chris F.
